If you can, pick up your laptop and look at the label underneath. If it’s easier, pick up your modem or lamp and look at their labels. Look at them all if you are curious enough. You’ll notice they all have something in common – they all have UL Labels.

UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories. UL is one of the most trusted companies for ensuring that the products manufacturers produce meet the most stringent safety requirements. For more than 110 years UL has tested and certified company products as safe. UL ensures that products are compliant between manufacturers, retailers, consumers and regulatory agencies.
According to Underwriter Laboratories, they have developed more than 100 standards for safety. All standards are designed with the public’s safety in mind. Whether it is a stereo, DVD player, television, night vision goggles, heart monitor or a cell phone. There are more than 9 billion products throughout the world with UL Labels.
After UL determines whether a company has complied with all safety requirements, they give the approval to use the UL logo on their products.

UL Labels are simply product identification labels or nameplates with the UL symbol printed on it.
There are several ways to print UL labels. With Data Graphics Inc’s state of the art printing facility, we can print on virtually any material the customer chooses. You can have your labels screen printed, hot stamp printed, thermal transfer printed or screen printed. There are various materials to choose from, such as vinyl, polycarbonate (or plastic), paper or anodized aluminum to name a few. Tamper evident materials are also available. This material allows the manufacturer or consumer to see if the UL label has been tampered with.
UL labels must be durable and long lasting due to the products they are attached to. The material you choose will depend on the product that needs the label. Polycarbonate plastic, vinyl and anodized aluminum are some of the most durable materials. Vinyl or mylar labels are most often used on electronic components, such as computer hardware. The labels must be able to withstand the constant heat emitted by electronics. In other cases, the UL Approved labels must be able to tolerate moisture, extreme heat, corrosive chemicals and the ultraviolet rays from the sun.
